Such a cute historical place to grab some food! Went here after visiting Georgetown. Loved the festive vibe inside , and it was quite busy for a holiday weekend. Since it's historical, I would expect great service but tiny venue/accommodations. Food was great also as a traditional American establishment

Ate here on a self treat day and had a wonderful experience! The bartenders Alex and Rob were very attentive and super personable! The Spritz n Aperol was SOO good!! Rob recommended the clam chowder and it was heavenly!!! They were also playing the GA FL game so you know that gets points! The vibe was boisterous but in a classy way!

Historic tavern with a cramped atmosphere and a solid menu of American food Both indoor and outdoor seating I came here with a friend for dinner and even though we made a reservation they still made us wait for over 10 minutes at the bar where there was no seating available. They were also fairly rude about it Once we were finally able to get a table the food was all very solid

A wonderful place to stop for lunch, right in the heart of Georgetown. Built in 1933, Martin's has quite a few interesting and unique menu options! We had the potato skins and the chili which were incredible. And I have it on good authority the Brunswick Colonial Stew is made with real colonials; never imitation. Lol. Just kidding, it's chicken. Add to it that the Martin's staff are empaths (just read the menu!), they'll surely put you on the right track for the food experience you want, just as they did for us.

We came for lunch in early July and absolutely loved our experience. The restaurant is full of charm and history. Many presidents and other celebrities have frequented this establishment. Seeing the booth where JFK proposed was just crazy! Oscar, our waiter, was superb. Patient, fun, and clearly loved his job and this place. We had a hungry toddler with us and everyone was so kind. I got an Aperol spritz which was as expected. My husband and I split the shepherds pie and my mother in law got the Kentucky hot brown. We also got fried green tomatoes. All was delicious! This place is a core memory from our trip.

This place was popping! We managed to snag at reservation for 3PM (stopped by around 12 to leave our names). The drinks were great and strong (always a plus) and the food was amazing. We also got a Shepards pie which was delicious, and the Ahi tuna sandwich was the start of the show for me. We sat outside and had a great time!

It was oyster week so we ordered up a dozen. They were on the larger size. Plump brine tasty. I ordered the shepherds pie made with lamb. It was delicious. Service was top notch on a busy night. It had a beautiful interior with lots of wood. Would love to get back soon.

Our recent visit to Martin's Tavern was nothing short of enchanting. Arriving slightly ahead of dinner service, we chose to settle by the bar, where the service proved to be impeccable. The ambiance was steeped in history and exuded a cozy charm, making for an inviting atmosphere. Our appetizers of calamari and shrimp were exquisitely seasoned and remarkably fresh. For the main course, the fish and chips were a revelation, delicately fried to perfection without a hint of oiliness. The medium-rare London broil was equally splendid, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Dessert was a delightful finale--a luscious key lime pie that we thoroughly enjoyed. A visit to Martin's Tavern wouldn't be complete without experiencing the storied proposal booth (booth number 3), where JFK famously proposed to Jackie Kennedy. This touch of history added to the allure of our evening. Without a doubt, we will be returning to Martin's Tavern to relive this extraordinary dining experience.
